Thanks!!

We thank you for bringing your passion projects, curiosity, and fellowship to PhreakNIC 24. It felt even more special to see you all after a 3 year hiatus during the pandemic.

Final attendance count was 157.

We will be going over the income from the ticket and t-shirt sales in the next months to create our budget for PhreakNIC 25.

Start thinking of talks you could give (even if only a 20 min session) for next year! If you are interested in serving as one of the 7 director positions BenTheMeek outlined in the closing talk please email info@nashville2600.org. Also please give your honest feedback in the google form below. It is only one question and a comment box!

Beginner’s Lockpicking Booth

We are excited to have Forest Darling hosting a lockpicking table and teaching locksport!

Forest has been hosting a lockpicking table at the TN Maker Fest (formerly the Nashville Mini Maker Faire) hosted at Vanderbilt’s Wond’ry since 2017. Forest teaches using a clear acrylic body Schlage lock, and has Chinese cutaway padlocks as well as “real” locks (both cutaway and opaque, padlock and door cylinder). There will also be locks/picks/wrenches for sale by Forest for those who to expand on the hobby!

Are you a Mid-South resident who misses the good old days of small hacker conventions? Do you remember when it was all about the people and their stories, rather than the latest security products? Well, we have some great news for you! After a three-year hiatus, PhreakNIC is back and better than ever. https://www.eventbrite.com/…/phreaknic-2023-tickets… This non-profit educational conference is organized by the community, for the community. With a typical attendance of 100-200 souls and plenty of actual practitioners in the information security/technology industry, youโ€™ll have the chance to hang out, make friends, and hear about passion projects from a truly amazing group of people. Weโ€™d love for you to join us on November 3rd and 4th in Murfreesboro, TN (just 30 minutes from Nashville)
